The longest chilli pepper (Capsicum annuum) was grown by Jürg Wiesli (Switzerland) and measured 56.3 cm (1 ft 10.1 in) long as verified at the European Pumpkin and Vegetable Weigh-Off Championship in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany on 11 October 2026.

The chilli was grown from the "Joe's Long" cayenne variety with the seed originating from a strain that the grower has come to refer to as the "Wiesli Big Long".

This is the third time in 2026 that Wiesli has broken this record. His previous world-record bests were 54.3 cm (1 ft 9.4 in) on 3 October and 52.5 cm (1 ft 8.6 in) on 11 August. Prior to that, the record longest chilli pepper (also set by Wiesli) had stood at 50.5 cm (1 ft 7.8 in) since 2018.
