Nellie Kim (Russia, formerly Soviet Union) has seven elements (original skills) named after her in the 2017–20 Fédération Internationale Gymnastique Code of Points: three on the vault, two on the balance beam and two on the floor. She won five Olympic gold medals in 1976 and 1980, becoming only the second female gymnast after Nadia Comăneci to earn a perfect score of 10 at the Olympics at the former.

In order to have an original skill named after them, gymnasts have to propose them to the FIG beforehand. Each move is graded by difficulty, from A to I. Gymnasts then have to perform the move without large error at an approved competition.

Over the course of her career Svetlana Khorkina (Russia) amassed eight eponymous skills that were accepted into the FIG’s Code of Points – two on the vault, three on the uneven bars (including one co-originated with Amy Chow), two on the balance beam and one on the floor.

Various technical rule changes meant that only four remained as of the 2017–20 edition.
