Only one racing driver has completed the unofficial Triple Crown of Motorsport: Graham Hill (UK). He won the Indianapolis 500 race in 1966, the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1972 and took the chequered flag at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix five times (1963–65 and 1968–69). Six other drivers have won two of the three events: Tazio Nuvolari (Italy), Maurice Trintignant (France), A J Foyt (USA), Bruce McLaren (New Zealand), Jochen Rindt (Austria) and Juan Pablo Montoya (Colombia).
Some class the Formula 1 World Championship and not the Monaco Grand Prix as one leg of the Triple Crown of Motorsport.
A two-time winner of the F1 World Championship in 1962 and 1968, Graham Hill remains the only driver to have completed the Triple Crown by this criterion also.
