As of 1 May 2021, “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd (Canada, b. Abel Tesfaye) had spent 57 weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry’s (IFPI) biggest-selling digital single worldwide in 2020 (2.72 billion “subscription stream equivalents” across all digital formats) and Spotify’s most streamed track of 2020 (1.6 billion) topped Billboard’s year-end Hot 100 Songs chart after a remarkable chart run that featured four non-consecutive weeks at No.1. The track’s most recent week inside the Top 10 was on the Hot 100 dated 17 April 2021, when it dropped to No.9 in its 70th week on the chart.

“Blinding Lights” ousted Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" from the record books. “Shape” spent 33 consecutive weeks inside the Hot 100’s Top 10 – including 12 weeks at No.1 – from 28 January to 9 September 2017.

The first Billboard Hot 100 chart was published on 4 August 1958.
