Since Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart was first published in January 2013, no female artist has matched Ariana Grande’s 93.8 million streams for “Thank U, Next” for the week ending 6 December 2018 (reflected on the Billboard chart dated 15 December 2018). Buoyed by the release of the track’s official music video a week earlier, “Thank U, Next” beat the 84.5 million streams collected by Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” for the week ending 7 September 2017 (chart dated 16 September 2017).
As of the Streaming Songs chart dated 18 July 2026, “Thank U, Next” still topped the female-artist rankings ahead of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” (93 million streams in August 2020) and Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” (92.5 million streams in October 2025), with another Grande track, “7 Rings”, lying fourth with 85.3 million streams in February 2019.
The leader overall is Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road”, which logged an incredible 143 million streams in April 2019.
On the all-genre Hot 100, which combines streams, radio airplay and digital sales, “Thank U, Next” rebounded to No.1 on 15 December 2018 on the strength of its 93.8-million-strong streaming week.
