“The Fate of Ophelia”, the opening track from Taylor Swift’s 12th original studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, logged 30,987,370 filtered streams on Spotify on 3 October 2025. The world-conquering singer smashed her own 24-hour record of 25,204,472, set on 19 April 2024 by “Fortnight”, her collaboration with Post Malone from her previous studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Combined, the 12 tracks logged 249,978,671 streams – an average of almost 20,831,556 plays per track. By comparison, the 16 songs on the standard edition of The Tortured Poets Department racked up 232,260,493 streams on 19 April 2024 – or 313,747,178 including the double album’s 15 extra tracks.
Swift held the top 12 positions on the platform’s “Daily Top Songs Global” chart, with all 12 tracks from Showgirl.
Four tracks were streamed at least three times more than “Golden” by K-pop Demon Hunters (7,163,479) – the previous day’s global No.1 on Spotify and a 76-day chart-topper: “The Fate of Ophelia” (30,987,370), “Elizabeth Taylor” (23,974,787), “Opalite” (23,716,087) and “Father Figure” (21,802,376).
All four of the tracks referred to above entered Spotify’s all-time top 10 for global streams in 24 hours – respectively, at positions 1, 5, 6 and 9. The remaining six positions are now held by Swift’s “Fortnight” and three Christmas songs, from Mariah Carey (two entries for “All I Want for Christmas Is You”), Wham! (two entries for “Last Christmas”) and Brenda Lee (one entry for “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”).
Eleven of the 12 tracks from Showgirl entered Spotify’s all-time top 25 for global streams in 24 hours. Just “Honey” (all-time No.51, with 15,995,465 streams) missed out. “Honey” was a Showgirl outlier, and the only track from the album to be streamed less than 18.7 million times on 3 October 2025.
Swift fans still found time to listen to songs from her back catalogue on 3 October, with huge streaming gains for “august” (2,615,761), “cardigan” (1,989,903), “Cruel Summer” (1,503,912) and “Lover” (1,254,940) taking her “Daily Top Songs Global” Top 200 streaming total for the day to 257,343,187.
