Fastest hat-trick in rugby league’s Super League by an individual

On 29 May 2017, Greg Eden (UK) scored a hat-trick of tries for Castleford in 4 minutes 59 seconds against Leigh Centurions at the Leigh Sports Village in Greater Manchester, UK. He went over for his first try on 32 minutes 43 seconds, and completed his hat-trick on 37 minutes 42 seconds. Amazingly, it was the fourth consecutive Super League game in which Eden had scored a hat-trick.

Eden’s hat-trick could potentially be the fastest ever recorded in professional rugby league – Shaun Johnson’s mark of 6 minutes 30 seconds for the New Zealand Warriors against Canberra Raiders in the NRL on 31 August 2013 has been previously reported as the fastest in the sport.
