Rooney's cover appearances ran from 2005–2011: FIFA 06, FIFA 07, FIFA 08, FIFA 09, FIFA 10, FIFA 11 and FIFA 12. Meanwhile, Cahill featured on the Australian regional editions for FIFA 10, FIFA 11, FIFA 12, FIFA 13, FIFA 14, FIFA 15 and FIFA 16. As of the release of FIFA 18 in September 2017, only Brazil's Ronaldinho had featured on more covers overall: a total of nine.
