The first real-world boxers to endorse their own videogames are British heavyweight Frank Bruno and Irish featherweight Barry McGuigan, both of whom released titles in 1985. Frank Bruno's Boxing was an unofficial clone of the coin-op Super Punch-Out!!, published by Elite for 8-bit computers. Barry McGuigan World Championship Boxing was an acclaimed career-based title, in which players fought to rise through for the ranks for a showdown with the main star himself. It was also released for 8-bit home computers and was published by Activision.
