On 29 June 1958, Nils Liedholm (Sweden, b. 8 October 1922) scored after four minutes of the final of the FIFA World Cup against Brazil aged 35 years 264 days. But it was the South Americans who ran out 5–2 winners at the Råsunda Stadium in Solna, Sweden, aided by a goal from the youngest player to score in the World Cup Final – Pelé.
