On 8 April 2017, UK developer duo the Oliver Twins released their NES platformer Mystery World Dizzy – 24 years after the game was originally due to come out. Although the once-canned adventure was finished in 1993, reported financial difficulties meant that it never saw the light of day. The game was finally distributed as an online flash title by its original creators to celebrate the Dizzy protagonist's 30th anniversary. A Kickstarter campaign was also mooted for the platformer to be given a physical NES cartridge release.
The game was essentially a remake of the home-computer hit Dizzy 3: Fantasy World Dizzy.
