Fritz and Ottmar Walter (Germany) were both part of the successful West German side that won the 1954 FIFA World Cup. Captain Fritz scored three goals at the tournament, while younger brother Ottmar scored four times. Both were on the scoresheet as West Germany beat Austria 6–1 in the semi-final, and went on to play in the 3–2 victory over Hungary in the final on 4 July 1954 at the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern, Switzerland.
