On 20 March 2017, YouTuber "desk" posted a video that demonstrated the discovery of new combos in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior – some 26 years after the game's original arcade release in February 1991. The new combos specifically target the masked fighter Vega (or Balrog, as he's known in Japan). "desk", who is described by Eurogamer as “the world’s greatest fighting game combo technician”, exploits an old "on the ground" (OTG) bug that allows Vega to still be hit while he is grounded following a sweep attack (the other characters are temporarily invincible when getting back to their feet). With impeccable precision and timing, "desk" shows that one combo using further sweep attacks could last indefinitely.
