The fastest time to row the length of the Thames by single canoe/kayak (Teddington lock) is 2 days 9 hr 33 min and was achieved by Matthew Harvey (UK) from 28 to 30 May 2021.
Matthew has always enjoyed setting challenges and pushing himself out of his comfort zone. Having previously cycled between Land's End and John-O'-Groats and hiked the National Three Peaks, he decided his next endurance event should be on water. He checked the Guinness World Records website for an idea of how long the journey would take and realised the record was achievable so began training towards it, eventually setting the record with days to spare.
