Based on the magazine’s year-round monitoring of sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and social engagement, Swift won Top Artist (overall), Female Artist, Hot 100 Artist, Hot 100 Songwriter, Billboard 200 Artist, Billboard 200 Album (The Tortured Poets Department), Streaming Songs Artist, Radio Songs Artist, Billboard Global 200 Artist and Billboard Global (Excl. In the prestigious Top Artist category, the 17-time nominee fended off competition from Zach Bryan (21 nods), Morgan Wallen (15), Sabrina Carpenter (nine) and Drake (eight) to win it for a record fourth time (2013, 2015 and 2023–24).
Swift began the night in a tie with Drake on 39 Billboard Music Awards won. The rapper took home Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist and Top Rap Album (For All the Dogs) to increase his total to 42 – the most awards won by a male artist, surpassing the 40 won by Michael Jackson (USA, 1958–2009).
