South Korea's Girls' Generation have registered 13 wins at the Melon Music Awards, one of the leading awards shows in Seoul, South Korea. Girls' Generation won Artist of the Year in 2009–10 and Song of the Year in 2009 for "Gee". In 2011, their single "The Boys", which reached No.5 on Billboard's Hot Dance Singles Sales chart, won Melon's Global Star Award – a prize awarded to PSY's worldwide smash "Gangnam Style" the following year.
