Most followers on Instagram for a music group

K-pop royalty BTS (South Korea; @BTS official) had accumulated 81,279,475 followers on Instagram as of 28 July 2026. The world-conquering septet, also known as the Bangtan Boys, are the only music group ranked in the photo-focused social network’s most followed top 100, with solo band members V (75.78 million) and Jimin (59.67 million) also putting in an appearance.

Instagram itself (685.86 million) and footballers Cristiano Ronaldo (678.07 million) and Lionel Messi (515.69 million) were the platform’s most followed creators as of 28 July 2026.

Among musicians, BTS are ranked 21st (and 51st overall) on Instagram, behind the likes of Selena Gomez (404 million) – the most followed female musician, Kylie Minogue, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber (287.09 million) – the most followed male musician – and Taylor Swift.
