Ryan was a keen explorer and runner before injuring both of his feet snowshoeing in the mountains. He discovered cycling was the only activity that did not hurt so decided to master it and attempt a world record. He trained countless hours towards this attempt, eventually breaking the record by just over 50 km / 31 miles.
