Most crowdfunded videogame based on a film

Having obtained game rights for the 1980s slasher movie franchise of the same name, Friday the 13th: The Game (Gun Media) had raised a total of $2,060,651 (£1,693,760) across the crowdfunding platforms Kickstarter and Backerkit, as of 10 March 2017. A total of 50,031 backers helped make the game, set for release in 2017, reality. The game is a multiplayer survival horror, in which one player controls the masked killer Jason Voorhees, while others star as campers trying to survive the night.
