The fastest ground speed by a battery-powered remote-controlled (RC) quadcopter is 626.42 km/h (389.24 mph) and was achieved by Benjamin Biggs (Australia), in Melbourne, Australia, on 8 December 2025.
Benjamin decided to attempt breaking this record title as the challenge would combine his skills in aerodynamic design, CAD modelling, electrical systems and drone piloting. His new record achievement is the result of 18 months of design, testing and optimisation. He built this aircraft from the ground up with the sole purpose of achieving over 600 km/h.
