For the first time in the franchise, Virtuality’s 1996 PAC-Man VR let gamers play from the perspective of the pellet-muncher himself. It ran on a virtual reality (VR) arcade machine, with a stereoscopic visor and handheld joystick, and was networked to other VR machines to allow players to talk and compete for high scores within their 3D environments.
