Streaming service Netflix (USA) secured 160 nominations for the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards. The media service provider and now production company, based in Los Gatos, California, increased its haul from 2019 by 36%, overtaking rival HBO (with 107 nominations), thanks to shows such as Ozark (its most recognized show, with 18 nominations), The Crown, Hollywood and Stranger Things.

The nominations, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, were announced on 28 July 2020 in a studio at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences by comedian Leslie Jones, who was joined virtually by Laverne Cox, Josh Gad and Tatiana Maslany.

Netflix beats the record of 137 nominations secured by HBO in 2019. The most nominated show of 2020, however, was HBO's Watchmen, which earned 26 nods, the most for any show in the 2020 announcement. The ceremony is due to be aired on ABC on 20 September 2020.
