The highest launch of an effervescent tablet rocket is 269.13 m (883 ft), and was achieved by BYU Rocketry (USA) at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Merritt Island, Florida, USA, on 12 December 2018.
The attempt was part of Bayer's second annual "AlkaRocket Challenge", this year comprising five teams competing for the Guinness World Records title and US $30,000 . Once again, astronaut Mae Jemison was present to serve as a judge.
