The dog group that has won the Best in Show (BIS) title the fewest times at Crufts Dog Show is the Toy group, members of which have won BIS only three times out of the 80 times that this title has been competed for. These three times were as follows: in 1973, by Alansmere Aquarius (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel owned by Alan Hall and John Evans); in 1997, by Ozmilion Mystification (a Yorkshire Terrier owned by Osman Sameja); and in 2003, by Yakee A Dangerous Liaison (a Pekingese owned by Mr Easdon and Mr Martin).
Between 1905 and 1914, the premier title won by dogs at Crufts was Best Champion (being replaced by BIS in 1928; there were no Crufts shows staged between 1915 and 1927), and Best Champion was won by Toy breeds on three occasions – in 1905 and again in 1907 by The Sable Mite, a Pomeranian, owned by Vale Nicholas; and in 1913 by Choo-tai of Egham, a Pekingese, owned by Miss V. Ashton Cross.
