Inventor Jason Hobson from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, has designed and constructed powered exoskeletons for the upper and lower body that enable him to lift the rear wheels of a GMC pick up truck weighing 5,000 lb (2,272 kg) and carry a 485-lb (220-kg) barbell with ease. Hobson, who is known online as "The Hacksmith", also completed a 275-lb (125-kg) bicep curl on national television with the help of the device. Although the exoskeleton is activated by Hobson's own body, its strength comes from a pair of powerful pneumatic cylinders.
