Highest annual earnings for a boxer (current year)

According to Forbes, the highest-earning boxer of 2023–24 was Canelo Álvarez (Mexico), with an estimated income of $85 m (£67.9 m) in the 12 months up to 1 May 2024.

This placed him 14th overall on the Forbes list of highest-earning athletes for 2023–24; topping the list was footballer Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) on $260 m (£207.6 m).

Of Álvarez's total earnings, it's estimated that 88% came from prize money, with the remainder generated via sponsorship and endorsements.

He placed ahead of British boxers Anthony Joshua ($83 m; £66.3 m) and Tyson Fury ($50 m; £39.9 m).
