The first team of four to row the Atlantic east to west from Europe to South America, mainland to mainland, were Jake Heath, Mel Parker, Susannah Cass and Luke Richmond (all UK), who rowed the distance of 3,080 nautical miles (5,705 km) from Lagos, Portugal, to Recife, Brazil, in 141 days 19 hours 35 minutes between 29 February and 24 April 2016 on board Row 2 Rio.
