Boris Korshunov (Russia, b. 31 August 1935) won nine Snow Leopard Awards between 1981 and 2004, two with the original four 7,000-m list and seven with the current five 7,000-m list. In 2004, at his ninth win and aged 69, he became the oldest person to achieve the Snow Leopard Award. His record remained unbeaten as of December 2016.
The prestigious Snow Leopard award is a mountaineering award given to climbers who summit all five mountains of 7,000 m and above located in the former Soviet Union. Situated in or between the former Soviet Republics of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, and with two mountains on the border with China, they are: Pik Imeni Ismail Samani (formerly Pik Kommunizma), Tajikistan, 7,495 m (24,590 ft); Jengish Chokusu (formerly Pik Pobeda), Kyrgyzstan/China, 7,439 m (24,406 ft); Qullai Abuali Ibni Sino (formerly Pik Lenina), Kyrgyzstan/Tajikistan, 7,134 m (23,406 ft); Pik Yevgenii Korzhenevskoy, Tajikistan, 7,105 m (23,310 ft); Khan Tangiri Shyngy (formerly Khan Tengri), Kyrgyzstan/Kazakhstan/China, 7,010 m (23,000 ft).
