The longest-running anime series based on a videogame is Pokémon: The Series, which first aired in Japan on 1 April 1997 (and the USA in September 1998) and continues to be produced. The most recent episode, "The Finals I: 'Torrent'" (episode 1,216), aired on 21 October 2022, and it is scheduled to reach episode 1,218 by the end of its 25th season on 4 November 2022.
The TV show is broadcast in Japan on the TX Network as seven distinct series, each based on one of the videogame titles. The 25th season is entitled Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, and is the third and concluding part of Pokémon Journeys: The Series, which began on 17 November 2019. The show is currently streamed on Netflix in more than 200 regions.
