Along with every other sport included with Wii Sports in 2006, Wii Sports Boxing made exhilarating use of the Nintendo Wii motion-sensing controllers. Using the nunchuk and remote, players could jab, uppercut and straight punch in addition to blocking, ducking and weaving.

Sony released a gesture-controlled boxing game with EyeToy for PS2 in 2003, but true motion-control – actually monitoring each movement, such as uppercuts, jabs and so on – arrived with Wii Boxing. It was a game for the younger members of the house, while grown-ups played bowling!
