The St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars combined to score four goals in 49 seconds during a game won by St. Louis, 7–5, in Dallas, Texas, USA, on 3 April 2015. The goal explosion broke the 1983 record of 53 seconds set by the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks. The record-setting streak started when Dallas’ Travis Moen scored at 19:49 of the first period. During the first 38 seconds of the second period, St. Louis’ Patrik Berglund and Jaden Schwartz and Dallas’ Jamie Benn all scored.
The three second-period goals also set a record for fastest by both teams from the start of a period (65 seconds by the Hartford Whalers and Montreal Canadiens in 1989).
