The first touch-screen eSport is Vainglory (Super Evil Megacorp, 2014) released November 2014.
Initially released on iOS in November 2014, followed by a full global release on 1 July 2015, the mobile MOBA Vainglory has been revolutionary in bringing touch-screen gaming to the burgeoning eSports scene. Its first global pro tournament was the Vainglory World Invitational, held in South Korea on 13–14 July 2015. The showpiece featured top-ranked teams from Europe, North America, China, Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan. Prior to that, eSports organizations ESL and VGL had been hosting regional cups, enabling Vainglory to herald its first pro outfits. Top honours at the World Invitational were claimed by South Korea’s Invincible Armada, who duly lived up to their name by defeating Japan’s Divine Brothers in the final.
In June 2016, ESPN described Vainglory as the "world's biggest mobile eSports”.
Another big mobile eSports tournament was the Clan Wars tournament, staged at the first ClashCon on 24 October 2015.
