Based on matches tracked by GosuGamers, the rune mage Ryze has been banned in 2,867 League of Legends matches – marginally more than LeBlanc, with 2,611 matches as of 14 February 2018. Banning champions is a feature of the MOBA that takes place during the team drafts. Before a match starts, each captain has an opportunity to strategically ban champions so that neither team can use them.
