Roger Federer (Switzerland) and Feliciano López (Spain) are tied on 81 appearances in the main singles draw of a Grand Slam tennis tournament. Federer, with 20 major singles titles (2003–18) to his name, kicked off his Grand Slam career at the 1999 French Open and made his most recent appearance at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
Federer’s 22-year run includes 65 consecutive main-draw appearances, from the 2000 Australian Open to the 2016 Australian Open. López took his tally of Grand Slam appearances to 81 at Wimbledon in 2022, having relinquished his record-setting sequence of 79 consecutive appearances (2002–22) by failing to qualify for the main draw at the 2022 French Open.
López made his Grand Slam debut at the 2001 French Open but missed the next three tournaments before embarking on his streak of 79 Slams in a row.
López benefitted from the late withdrawal of Dominic Thiem to take his place in the Wimbledon main draw in 2022. His All England Club call-up also made him the first player to register 20 appearances at each of the four Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open).
