Andrew Brownlee (b. 16 October 1962) was 62 years 147 days old when he played in the fifth match of the Falkland Islands’ T20 International (T20I) series against hosts Costa Rica in Guácima on 12 March 2025. He finished 3 not out from 20 balls as the Falkland Islanders were bundled out for 53.
The Costa Rica-Falkland Islands series also produced the oldest-ever T20I captain, Alan Dawson (b. 4 April 1968), who led the visitors in the fourth match of the series in Guácima (also played on 12 March 2025) at the age of 56 years 342 days.
As an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Falkland Islands became the 105th country to make its debut in international cricket with the first match of the series in Costa Rica on 10 March 2025.
Costa Rica’s Joseph Lucky (b. 10 October 1964) was anything but on 20 April 2025, playing against Turks & Caicos Islands in Panama City, Panama, at the age of 60 years 192 days. Lucky would have been old enough to take the record for the oldest-ever T20I player had Brownlee not played three matches for the Falkland Islands on 10–12 March 2025.
