A 50-ball innings of 137 not out by Kushal Malla, who bludgeoned his way to an unprecedented 34-ball century, and an extraordinary 52 not out courtesy of middle-order batter Dipendra Singh Airee, who clobbered eight of the 10 deliveries he faced over the boundary rope for six, propelled Nepal to a total score well beyond the 278 runs plundered by both Afghanistan (vs. Ireland) and the Czech Republic (vs. Türkiye) in 2019. The Mongolians were skittled for just 41 in reply as Nepal completed a men’s T20I record 273-run hammering, setting them on their way to a quarter-final clash with India.
