The most consecutive boxing world light flyweight title defences is 17 by Myung-Woo Yuh (South Korea), who successfully defended his WBA title from 9 March 1986 to 28 April 1991.
Yuh successfully defended his title in his native South Korea before finally losing in his first fight on foreign soil, against Japanese boxer Hiroki Ioka in Osaka. Less than a year later he regained his WBA title by defeating Ioka in Osaka and had one final defence against another Japanese boxer Yuichi Hosono before announcing his retirement.
