The most consecutive boxing world light middleweight title defences is 11 by Gianfranco Rosi (Italy), who retained the IBF World super welterweight title from 27 October 1989 to 4 March 1994.
Rosi finally lost his title in 1994 in a rematch with Vincent Pettway. The pair had fought months earlier, with the fight ending in a technical draw after an accidental clash of heads in the sixth round. Pettway won the rematch with a fourth-round KO.
Rosi was also WBC world super welterweight champion, defending that title successfully on one occasion.
