Akeem Stewart (Trinidad and Tobago) won gold in the F44 javelin with a throw of 57.61 metres (189 feet) at the IPC World Para Athletics Championships in London, UK, on 18 July 2017. Stewart, who has a congenital leg length discrepancy, threw from a standing start.
Athletes with lower limb deficiency, leg length difference, impaired muscle power or impaired range of movement and competing in field events qualify for the F42-44 classification. The F44 javelin event at London 2017 was open to athletes in the F42, F43 and F44 categories.
