The fastest half marathon pushing a triple pram (male) is 1 hr 35 min 40 sec and was achieved by Whitey Holt (USA) in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA, on 12 March 2022.
In the pram were Whitey's children: Julia (5), Tripp (3), and Charlotte (11 months). The children, along with his wife, Jan, inspired Whitey to make the attempt.
"Ever since our first-born arrived, we’ve made the running stroller a big part of our lives. We own a single, double, and triple running as we’ve had to upgrade with each new kid", he explains.
Running with his kids has always been a way for Whitey to get out of the house to get some fresh air. This hobby then snowballed into running half marathons! "Jan was a tremendous support through the whole process - she was our greatest cheerleader and made all the race-day logistics come together," says Whitey.
Whitey runs about 30 – 40 miles per week, all year-round. While training for the half marathon, he used 100 lbs of sandbags instead of the kids - as he didn’t want to wake them up early when the temperature was often below freezing!
