A total of 1,180 Pokkén Tournament players engaged in a Pokémon-themed rumble at the 2016 Evo Championship Series in Las Vegas, USA, on 15–17 July 2016. It was the fourth most heavily subscribed tournament at the coveted championships, sat behind Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Melee, all of which broke their own records for entrance figures. Pokkén Tournament is a crossover fighter that combines Pokémon creatures with Tekken gameplay mechanics. It was developed by Tekken developer Bandai Namco Studios and launched for arcades in 2015 followed by Wii U in 2016. “Tomosama” of Japan won the EVO tournament.
