The most Olympic badminton medals won by an individual male is 3, achieved by Kim Dong-moon (South Korea) from the 1996 Atlanta to the 2004 Athens Olympics. This was equalled by Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia) and Fu Haifeng (China) from the 2008 Beijing to the 2016 Rio Olympics; and by Zhang Nan (China) from the 2012 London to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Kim Dong-moon won gold in Atlanta and Athens and a bronze medal in Sydney.

Lee Chong Wei's medals are all silver in the men's singles.
