This record was part of GWR Cymru 2025. GWR Cymru is a special St David's Day project in celebration of Welsh talent, culture and language. Author and baker Michelle made the cupcakes and icing herself. Whilst she was very nervous for her attempt, she managed to surpass the previous record by an additional 31 cakes. She completed 68 cupcakes in the timeframe with two discounted from the final total for not fully covering the top of the cakes.
