Released in Japan as a Neo-Geo arcade game on 3 March 1995 by SNK, Double Dragon – alternatively known as Double Dragon '95 – was a one-on-one fighting videogame based on the 1994 movie adaptation of SNK's side-scrolling beat-'em-up series. This predates the previous record holder, Street Fighter: The Movie, by approximately three months. Time magazine included the Double Dragon film in a list of the "Top 10 Worst Video Game Movies". The game fared little better, with GamePro criticising the "remarkably subdued graphics" and calling aspects of it "silly".
