The game's praise narrowly pips Ninja Gaiden, which scored 92.54% on the Xbox several months later. The Sands of Time is a reboot of Jordan Mechner's classic Prince of Persia platform series, which debuted on the Apple II in 1989.
The original Prince of Persia trilogy ran from 1989 to 1999 prior to its revamp in 2003.
