The fastest crossing of the Taklamakan Desert on foot is 61 days 6 hours 42 minutes and was achieved by Ye Chenguang (China) from Ruoqiang County to Makit County, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, China, between 7 December 2022 and 6 February 2023.
The attempt must start at Makit County (N38°52.163', E77°53.418') and end at Ruoqiang County (N39°39.856', E88°27.431'), or vice versa.
