The most plants planted by a team in one hour is 251,446 and was achieved by Varanasi Municipal Corporation (India) in Namoh Van, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, on 1 March 2026.

The record attempt formed a part of the larger Namoh Van ecological restoration initiative, lead by Varanasi Municipal Corporation which is aimed at riverbank rejuvenation and bio diversity. The urban forest park which will eventually arise from the planting of the plants will be called Namo Van and will enhance biodiversity, strengthen the Ganga riverbank and improve ecological balance.

The plantation followed advanced ecological principles, including layered planting, flood tolerant native species selection and Miyazaki-style dense afforestation, contributing to flood mitigation, groundwater recharge, and biodiversity conversation.
