As of 6 January 2016, the most successful television competition series at the People's Choice Awards was Fox's American Idol (USA), which has picked up six awards to date: in 2005–07 and 2010–12. American Idol started in 2002 and the 15th series – announced as being the last – aired its final episode on 7 April 2016.
The People's Choice Awards (PCA) is an annual US awards ceremony inaugurated in 1975 to celebrate popular culture, such as movies, TV, music and digital media.
