On 5 November 2023, Novak Djokovic (Serbia) secured his 40th ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Tour Masters 1000 title, defeating Grigor Dimitrov 6–4, 6–3 in the Paris Masters final, held at the Accor Arena in France.


Djokovic won his first Masters 1000 title at the Miami Open (aka the Sony Ericsson Open) on 1 April 2007.

The nine annual Masters 1000 tournaments are the most prestigious events on the ATP calendar after the four Grand Slams and the end-of-season Tour Finals. Djokovic’s 40 Masters 1000 titles: Miami (6 – 2007, 2011–12 and 2014–16); Montreal/Toronto (4 – 2007, 2011–12 and 2016); Indian Wells (5 – 2008, 2011 and 2014–16), Rome (6 – 2008, 2011, 2014–15, 2020 and 2022); Paris (7 – 2009, 2013–15, 2019, 2021 and 2023), Madrid (3 – 2011, 2016 and 2019); Shanghai (4 – 2012–13, 2015 and 2018), Monte Carlo (2 – 2013 and 2015); and Cincinnati (3 – 2018, 2020 and 2023).

Djokovic also holds Masters 1000 records for: most finals (58) and most semi-finals (76 – shared with Rafael Nadal); most titles (6), finals (8) and match wins (39) in a single year (2015); most consecutive finals (seven, in 2015–16); most consecutive matches won (31, in 2011); and most titles in Paris (7), Indian Wells (5 – shared with Roger Federer), Shanghai (4) and Miami (6 – shared with Andre Agassi).

Nadal, with 36 titles in 2005–21, and Federer, with 28 titles in 2002–19, were second and third in the Masters 1000 rankings, as of 5 November 2023.
