Forthcoming space epic No Man's Sky (Hello Games, 2016) features a giant universe, which is procedurally generated. Managing director Sean Murray confirmed on PlayStation.Blog that "Even if a planet is discovered every second, it’ll take 585 billion years to find them all!" By that metric, it’s the largest playable videogame universe.
The game also features a possible 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 ("more than 18 quintillion") unique planets for players to land on and explore – the largest number of explorable planets in a videogame.
